Angara, a champion of the rights and welfare of senior citizens in the Senate, said many elderly people belonging to the age group 60 to 70 are still physically capable and are prepared to work and earn a living.

Senator Sonny Angara is pushing for wide-ranging reforms to improve the services and facilities in all barangays across the country, as well as make barangay officials regular state employees entitled to fixed salaries and benefits.

Senator Sonny Angara has filed a proposed legislation that will give the Department of Health (DOH) the authority to increase the bed capacity of all public hospitals under its supervision in order to address the mismatch in occupancy and improve the quality of government health services.

Senator Sonny Angara has urged the House of Representatives to immediately pass its version of the bill institutionalizing the grant of 20-percent fare discount to students to ensure they will continue to enjoy reduced transportation expenses in the future.
